Our
time traveling in and through Argentina has been truly special,
the people, the landscape and the hospitality. The help
and genuine support we received from BMW Motorrad Argentina
in particular from Mariano Sanchez was no exception.
We'd
tried everything we could think of to get our hands on off-road
tyres that would get us down to Ushuaia and back up the
Ruta 40, and we'd come up short.
With
a desperate phone call made to Mariano the following day
our tyre hunting days were over. Mariano had searched high
and low and true to his word had dropped off to us 9 part
used Continental TKC80's . We'd hoped at best to get a set
but to be handed 9 was outstanding.
After
years of dreaming and planning we'd finally ridden As far
South as physically possible and had reached Ushuaia back
in April 2006. By May 2006 we'd ridden into Bariloche having
ridden through Chile, Tores de Paine, the Fitzroy Mountain
Range and survived the infamous Ruta 40. Both the bikes
were in need of a little TLC (tender Loving care).
A
week after our first phone call to BMW in Buenos Aires,
the smartly wrapped brown box arrived in Bariloche. The
note simply read..."enjoy, hope the parts are of
help, keep on riding stay safe". The note was from
Mariano and the contents? A new complete chain and sprocket
set for the F650GS, two sets od front fork seals and cups
for the R1100GS and a brand new set of BMW chain tensioners
again for Lisa's F650GS.
So
again a huge thank you to Mariano, his staff and BMW Motorrad
Argentina for your support and surpassing our expectations |
