We
owe a massive debt of thanks to the fantastic support from
BMW Motoarrad Brazil in particular Mr. Andres Fuse (GeneralManger
of BMW Motoarrad Brazil), who, after hearing of our tyre plight
prior to our Amazonian leg instantly offered his assistance
by not only supplying us with 5 new Metzler Karoo tyres but
then flying them directly to us in Manaus.
Having
already sponsored us with new tyres we were only weeks later
to be calling on the support of BMW Motorrad Brazil when the
rear wheel bearing on the R1100GS gave out North of Ji-Parana.
BMW Motorrad Brazil supplied and shipped a new bearing instantly.
1
week later and with the 'big girl' working again we were
to need rescuing one last time. After my 'medical-condition'
worsened en-route to Sao Paulo, Andres arranged for pick
up and transport of both the bikes and ourselves to Sao
Paulo some 1,100 KM away.
Right
now our bikes are in the capable hands of 'Officer' one
of Brazils most established BMW dealers, who are repairing
and reinforcing the sub frame of the R1100GS and who will
be dealing with issue of my mashed Wiring loom/harness.
We couldn't be in better hands. Thank you to Fernando, chief
technician at Officer.
