Bracken Motorcycle Workshop

Bracken were one of our first sponsor's, without who's help we would not have the bikes in such great shape today.

Originally they agreed to get us discounted Touratech equipment, however, they have provided so much more in the shape of advice and overlanding experience into the bargain.

A massive thank you has to go to John "BUNNY" Hill, at Bracken, also known as Mr. Touratech. Apart from being a walking encyclopedia of biking information, he's become a friend and someone's opinion, both Lisa and I have come to trust.

Lisa and I had to place a degree of trust in the dealership, to guide us as to the most appropriate modifications we would need to make to the bikes. OK, actually it was me who needed the advice, bearing in mind that I was suffering from a biker affliction known as "tricky spendy modification-itus". Symptoms include the overwhelming need to purchase every accessory in sight. The accessory frenzy is justified by the rider because.."that could be really useful, maybe.. and it looks good"

John did a great job on pi"*ing on my bonfire whenever these symptoms surfaced and ensured the mod's we made were genuine ones that we would benefit from.

The workshop at Bracken also did a great job in tuning my R1100gs and sorting out the 39 litre tank on Lisa's F650GS. Paul Richetts also deserves a thank you. Not only for the expertise he extolled upon our bikes, but also for putting up with all my incessant questions of..."why, how long, how much torque, which oil and why does that happen"?

Bracken stock a range of bikes, mostly of the adventure variety, including GS's, KTM's and supermoto's. If you're planning any kind of trip, speak to these guys. The best lessons learned are at someone else's expense.

John "Bunny" Hill was instrumental in the preparation of our bikes in readiness for our trip in 2003. John sadly died on 5th October 2002 doing what he loved, riding his bike."John you'll always be missed but never forgotten". Thanks for all your help and advice, you were one in a Million.
