gear - The Kermit Chair
After
deciding not to carry camp stools
we were forced to change our minds
after meeting Tom in Nashville last
year.
The
Kermit chairs are probably some of
the coolest bits of camping gear we
have..and are now considered esential.
This

Podcast 8 - Uncrating the bikes in Japan
fter
months of overhauling the bieks we
finally managed to fly out fo the
USA and landed safely in Tokyo and
our 5th Continent.
Getting
our bike through customs and uncrating
was going to prove to be a long day.
After
6-years on the road with our two BMW
motorbikes we fly over to Japan from
the USA to meet our bikes and begin
to explore our 5th continent.

barely make to Iowa City for the presentation
at Gina's BMW, where we see first hand
the incredible devastation caused by
what many are calling the '500-year
flood'.

day ends in Omaha with some drama. after
a dull ride East we get hammered by
the circling tornadoes. Although we
come out unscathed their are fatalities
just to the North.
We
met Marco at a Gas station and discussed
his encounter with 'The Big Foot'
not just one but three of em'.
You
just cant' make this stuff up. Who
ever said that travel was dull?
Our
ride from Davis to Reno...not a biggy
but Lisa's first ride after major emergency
surgery just 5 weeks ago.
This
was our first trial with the new VIO
POV.1 video system. We'd hard mounted
one to the R1100GS and one to Issa's
12GS.
Thought
we'd have some fun with a 'Indiana Jones'
style map of our route from 2003. A
better way to visualize our route over
the last 5-years, just follow the red
line.
